Hall of Fame Selection Criteria

Selection Criteria

This criteria is used as a guideline to assist the committee members in determining which order many qualified people will be selected in and also in rare cases what minimum honors have to be attained to be considered among the many possible candidates. We will use comparative data whenever possible and when we can’t we will weight heavily multi sport athletes as well as prioritizing in the following manner:

      Prioritize the categories in the following order with weighting to multi sport athletes. 1) Professional Athletes, 2) Olympians or World Champion Amateurs, 3) Multi Year College All Stars, 4) Multiple year college performers, 5) State Player of the Year, 6) Multiple Time All State Player, 7)Single Time All State Player(Prior to 1950 for men and for other years for women the all tournament team honor can take the place of the All State Team Honor,8) Multiple time all tournament player, 9) single time all tournament player, 10) League Player of the Year, 11) Multiple time all league player, 12) Single time first team all league player, 13) 2^nd Team all league player, 14) Honorable Mention All League player of selected to the Shrine Game or Senior All Star Game, 15) Amateur Fame in Sport after high school and regarded as standout in a sport. Coaches Criteria for nomination to be: 4 Years Combined all sports(4 years on one sport or 2 years each in 2 sports). In addition, Coaches and Administrators that bring great honor to our school and community shall be heavily weighted. Winning percentage, State Championship Game Participation, State Placers, District & League Title Games. Individuals with great character and integrity can replace items above and to break ties. Involvement in the community and direct effect on people’s lives shall be heavily weighted.

For generations 1950 and older we will use frame of reference points from those that are still living that can provide the information needed. When it is feasible we will bring multiple generations of the same families on the same year. When feasible we will bring multiple people from the same generation who would appreciate each other more from knowing and having seen their greatness firsthand. Personal and Business success as well as fame, attitude, setting an example and integrity will be guiding principles as well. Persons that hold school records, an individual placer at state, rated as one of the top player of an era by a former coach or from historical sources, highly rated as a multi sport athlete by a former or current coach that may not have been honored in high school and individuals that led their team’s to titles although they may have not been honored individually in their era.
